Polly Wales, one of my very favorite jewelry designers, launched an incredible new collection at COUTURE a few weeks ago. The designs are a beautiful evolution from her original collection of brightly colored gemstones cast in yellow gold using a very unique technique. The new pieces feature stones cast using a similar process, but they are closer to the surface and placed in more intentional patterns. The designs are elegant but maintain Polly's recognizable organic style.
This week I took a short road trip from PA where I've been spending time with family to Quadrum, a gallery in Boston, that was hosting a Polly Wales trunk show. I saw many of the designs at COUTURE, but couldn't resist exploring the collection further. A few photos from my trip below.
Photos do not do these small works of art any justice. The quality and craft is just amazing. While designing these pieces, Polly drew inspiration from "bold shapes and color arrangements found in hand-made Berber tapestries, distinctive tribal patterning and antique Persian archery rings."
Some of my favorites from the collection below - see more on her website!
