Emilie Shapiro, the designer, maker and business owner I featured yesterday recently wrote a book. She was kind enough to send me a copy to review.
It's about creating your own jewelry line. Emilie decided to write it because so often she met fellow designers who were hesitant to give advice and she didn't understand why.
I was thrilled to share this because I know so many talented artists and designers who get overwhelmed by the basics of starting a business. In turn they hire expensive marketing agencies or "experts" to consult and end up gathering some debt. Emilie lays out how to produce, market and sell a jewelry collection in a way that is easy to understand and feels manageable.
My favorite part of the book, other than the thoughtful foreword was a section at the back that includes advice from industry experts.
